Yearly 2-Day

Annual Retreat

Held at the Truist Leadership Institute

The annual Forum retreat is a Forum group’s primary educational and bonding activity. For this reason, it is critical that every member participate. It is also an ideal time to bring in new members to help them integrate into the group.

The Center for Private Business hosts the Forum’s first retreat at the Truist Leadership Institute in Greensboro, NC. The first retreat is two days, one night, and each Forum member is provided a private, queen room at the Leadership Institute.

Leadership

Work on active listening, organization skills, conflict resolution, empathy, and interpersonal skills required to be a strong leader.

Communication

Develop important communication methods to better work with your team, your employees and your peers. Strengthen your confidence, tone and approachability to grow as a leader.

Self Awareness

Learn about your inherent biases, work on areas of weakness and get feedback on how your leadership style is perceived by other for more effective leadership.

Goals of the Annual Retreat

Yearly retreats are a minimum of 2 days, 1 night with at least 8-12 hours of “work time.” They typically include a Forum meeting, along with exercises, recreation, and other activities to bond the group. The best practice is for the Forum to bring in a Forum Resource at least every other year to promote Forum health and deepen Forum member connections and learning.
