Working with privately-owned businesses in the Charlotte area, the Center for Private Business provides programming, educational series and networking to our members.
“The Center for Private Business has been a game-changer for me. Not only has the Center offered informative and timely workshops, but it has provided access to invaluable professional resources that have broadened my perspective on how to run my business. When I moved back to Charlotte four years ago to help lead my family’s business, I struggled to find a neutral sounding board. Forum not only filled that gap but also helped me forge what I hope will be lifelong friendships.”

Wake Forest University Center for Private Business works closely with Charlotte-based businesses to deliver programming and networking to privately-owned businesses.
Charlotte is a Southern powerhouse in the financial industry, manufacturing industry and production industry. Businesses all over Charlotte, Concord and Salisbury produce paper products, commercial, energy, equipment, and textiles. The Center for Private Business works with 46 privately-owned businesses in and around Charlotte.
“The Center has helped me to gain confidence as a 4th generation woman in business. Month after month, Forum provides the space to step away from warehouse operations to uncover pain points or think bigger picture, all with the support of similarly minded business leaders.”
“My Membership and Forum experience has been awesome! It has been a great decision for my company. I leave the sessions feeling as if I learned a lot. Being an entrepreneur can be lonely, so bringing certain issues to the group allows for other Members to share retrospection on how they handled a similar issue. That has really lessened the learning curve for certain issues. The Center has helped me become a better delegator and empowered my team to step up on days I am away.”

Courtney works with recruitment, outreach and members in the Charlotte region, through Concord, Gastonia, Salisbury and beyond.
